Hurt & Happy: Kangana is actually relieved she’s out of action!

Kangana Ranaut’s a tough gal. No moping and moaning over her foot injury suffered while filming her Rani Laxmibai biopic in Jodhpur. She had to return home in a wheelchair but chooses to laugh, “It has been 60 days of action so far and after non-stop 30 nights of fighting armies with a baby hanging to my back, I was secretly hoping that I get hurt so that I could go back and hide in my house for some time!”

Currently on bed rest, she chuckles, “I am delighted that Krish (director) and crew are still working in Jodhpur while I am having my favourite cold-coffee in Mumbai.”

The accident apparently occurred when she performing a scene at the Mehrangarh fort, where she had to jump off a 40-feet-high wall with her adopted child in the film, who is tied to her back on a horse. She suffered a ligament tear in her right ankle and was brought into Goyal Hospital in Jodhpur early morning. Speaking about her injury, the actress said, “During this scene, I stumbled and injured my right ankle. There was nothing serious, it was just a sprain.”

After an X-ray detected no fracture, the actress’s foot was put in a cast and she had been recommended rest for the sprain to heal.

Producer of the upcoming Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Kamal Jain, informs that Kangana was almost done with her shoot on the Jodhpur schedule. Filming has been suspended as Kangana heals, and is able to resume shooting in the first week of December.
Playing the warrior queen has not been a walk in the park for Kangana.

In July this year while shooting in Hyderabad, she was left badly injured while shooting an intense sword-fighting sequence with co-star Nihar Pandya. Inadvertently, his sword hit her forehead and left her bleeding profusely. Then again, Ranaut had chosen to take the accident in a lighter vein as she said, “I am a bit embarrassed to be thrilled to have a battle scar on my face. Also, people from my team have been telling me that it's like that Peshwa teeka that Manikarnika wore. It's a bit dramatic but I am excited that my face was covered in blood and I got a genuine and authentic glimpse of the Queen's life.”

At that time, Kangana had been rushed to Apollo hospital where she was admitted into the ICCU, and administered 15 stitches on her forehead. The examining doctor had said that it was a close shave for her because the cut was too close to her bone.
