Anushka Sharma and Sakshi Dhoni: These WAGs were schoolmates!

So, you’re sitting in the special stands, watching your very own Men in Blue sweat in out the field and you get talking, and then talking some more… and you discover you actually grew up together and weren’t even aware of it! The story of Anushka Sharma and Sakshi Dhoni goes something like this. Apparently, it was in 2013 – the same year that Anushka and Virat started dating - that she and Sakshi also discovered they actually have quite a bit of shared history. Both girls apparently lived in the same small town in Assam. As Anushka tells it, they got chatting and “when Sakshi told me where she lived, I said wow, ‘I have lived here too’! She said ‘I went to this school’, I said ‘I went to this school too.” Before long the excited girls, who had met up at an event, had joined the dots.

And the memories started to tumble out… Sharing a picture which features both of them as children, Anushka reveals, “And then I found a picture in which Sakshi is dressed as a fairy and I’m dressed in a ghaghara like my favourite idol Madhuri. Sakshi is extremely funny.”
There is another typical class photograph of them from 1994, which sees them posing with the rest of their class at their school, St. Mary’s in Assam.

More pictures follow from their reunion, in which they are definitely easier to identify! And yet another where both of them are chilling with other friends.

Given how close Virat and Dhoni are both on and off field, this connection between their women must be music to their ears!

Speaking of music, just last month there were strong suggestions of the upcoming sounds of shehnai… India’s captain Virat Kohli was supposed to have sought a break in December to marry his sweetheart. Fans had gone into a tizzy at the news. However, the talent agency which manages Anushka had come out to state, “These are just rumours doing the rounds. No truth to it.”

In the past, Anushka too has admitted, “Obviously marriage is on the cards, but when, that I'm not sure of.” Well, when it does happen, she has a great friend in fellow WAG Sakshi Dhoni already. Nice!
