Kareena talks of their “magical pairing”…can’t wait to do a film together!

No prizes for guessing the star in question – Ranbir Kapoor! Kareena Kapoor Khan has never left us in any doubt regarding how big a fan she is of her first cousin, Ranbir Kapoor. And now she does it again… At a recent event, she responded just like we expected her to, to a query about her favourite Kapoor to work with… “Well, I think there is only one Kapoor and that’s Ranbir Kapoor. He is my brother and he is absolutely nothing but the best that we have in the country today and it would be my honour to actually share a frame with him at some point in my life.”

In the past, talking about Ranbir’s success in films, she had revealed how the entire Kapoor clan was very proud of everyone in their family. They are especially delighted to see Ranbir doing such amazing work in such a short time, she shared. “Whether it’s in terms of his films or the brands he endorses, he has been around for such a small period but he has done great stuff. We kind of feel proud of each other.”

Filmmakers, you should know that Bebo is hoping to do a “nice brother-sister story with Ranbir (Kapoor) at some point in life. There’s something magical about our pairing. I have never worked with my sister so hopefully I will work with my brother soon.”

Full credit to this generation of Kapoors for putting aside the differences between their respective mothers and rebuilding bonds with one another! Fact is, Kareena’s mother, Babita and Ranbir’s mother, Neetu had apparently never been able to see eye to eye for at least two decades. Reports suggest that trouble had started when Randhir Kapoor married Babita, against the wishes of the Kapoor family. Things worsened when Babita left the Kapoor household when objections were raised about Karisma’s film aspirations. The two former actresses had steered clear of each other over the years, even giving each other’s daughter’s weddings a miss. However, the thaw set in when Kareena had openly praised her cousin at the time of his debut, Saawariya, and since then they have bonded warmly whether at awards functions, chat shows and their annual dinner at granduncle Shashi Kapoor’s residence. Today there is apparently goodwill even between Babita and Neetu, as they fuss and coo over each other’s grandchildren. Just like it happens in the movies!
