Lux Golden Rose Awards 2017

If there was an award for Best Statement at the Lux Golden Rose Awards 2017, it would go to Katrina Kaif. “It really doesn't matter what we wear, it matters what we do; it really doesn't matter how we look, it matters who we are.” You took it away, Kat! Incidentally, the stunner won the Charismatic Beauty Of The Year Award, beating back competition from co-nominees Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ileana D’Cruz, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonam Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.

It was interesting to see, yet again, the creatively-designed categories of awards that left our B-town beauties taking home trophies and their egos intact, despite evidently ‘competing’ with one another. Kat’s nemesis, Deepika Padukone, for instance, was also feted and took home the Unstoppable Beauty of the Year award – no additional catfights here! She beat Kangana Ranaut, Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif (see what we mean??) to win this trophy.

Alia Bhatt was chosen Versatile Beauty of the Year Award for her work in Dear Zindagi, from among Yami Gautam (Kaabil), Kriti Sanon (Bareilly Ki Barfi) and Bhumi Pednekar (Shubh Mangal Saavdhan).

Kareena Kapoor Khan bagged the I Am More Than You Can See Award, apparently deemed more apt for the honour than Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Oh, and her interaction with host Shah Rukh on stage about her pregnancy and son Taimur was rather cute.

While Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu were adjudged Break Through Performers Of The Year Award, Fatima Sana Shaikh And Zaira Wasim were declared winners of the Emerging Beauty Of The Year Award. Sridevi won Power Packed Beauty Of The Year Award, while Madhuri Dixit won the Timeless Beauty Award, and Juhi Chawla went home with the Legendary Beauty Award. Made everyone happy, didn’t they?!

Or, maybe not… Should we presume Aishwarya, Priyanka, Anushka and Kangana are currently feeling slighted for not bagging any of these fancy titles? Or was it simply that they couldn’t attend??
