Buzz is that Shah Rukh Khan and Prernaa Arora have taken the first step towards making sure their films Bauaa and Kedarnath do not clash at the box office next December. Both films, the first co-produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment and the second by Prernaa’s KriArj Entertainment, are already booked for release on December 21, 2018. And SRK, despite being such a big star, always tries his best to avoid clashes of his films with others at the box-office because he knows how much everybody suffers when two films release on the same date.
Earlier this year the actor had tried to convince Rakesh Roshan to postpone Kaabil’s January 25 release so that it would not clash with his Raees. And later when Jab Harry Met Sally was to clash with Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha on August 11, he brought forward his release date to August 4. Now the actor is reportedly in talks with Prernaa to postpone the release of her film. An insider says, “SRK has no ego when it comes to mutual discussions as he feels if films don’t clash the film industry and the box-office only benefits.”

Actually, Shah Rukh need not worry at all. Sushant Singh Rajput of Kedarnath is not a big actor and SRK could eat him alive at the BO. Nevertheless, the Bollywood Badshah and Prernaa reportedly met last night to discuss the clash. It was a very hush-hush meeting and only the people associated with both films knew about it. Incidentally, Prernaa was one of the co-producers of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha so it will be interesting to see how this works out. However, the producer declined to comment on her meeting with SRK when asked.
The source adds, “Shah Rukh Khan has always maintained in media interviews that it’s best to avoid clashes as this is nicer for both films, especially if they are expensive and big. Screens become lesser for the films and the audience gets divided. So it was natural for him to have a chat with Prernaa and request her to try and shift her date from December 21. The Karan Johar-Rohit Shetty film Simmba starring Ranveer Singh was also supposed to release on the same day. But KJo, being SRK’s buddy, decided to avert the clash and hence Simmbais coming a week later.”
