North and South are meeting and hitting it off real well! Collaborations seem to be the flavour of the season, and now we see two film faves – Ranveer Singh and Mahesh Bahu – coming together in a snazzy advertisement for the soft drink brand - Thumbs Up. Bollywood’s bright spark and the Telugu industry’s much-adored superstar combined forces in California, USA for their upcoming ad shoot.
Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata Shirodkar shared images of the two dudes on her Instagram account, with the caption, “On the sets of Thums Up charged ????????Nascar race track California!!” The pictures showed Ranveer and Mahesh dressed as racers, and looking a sight for sore eyes! Evidently, Mahesh Babu has long been associated with the brand Thumbs Up, while this is a first for Ranveer, who has replaced Salman as the ambassador of the cola brand last year.

Considering the ad has been shot at the iconic Nascar race track in California, and Thums Up itself is known for its high-octane brand image, fans of both stars are understandably raring to see what the ad has in store for them.
Even as the wait for the release of Padmavati continues, Ranveer has plunged into prepping for his next, the Zoya Akhtar directorial, Gully Boy. He plays a rapper in the film, which is based on the lives of Naezy aka Naved Shaikh, a gully rapper from a Mumbai slum, and rapper Vivian Fernandes aka Divine. Singh, known to throw himself with gusto into his every role, was recently seen visiting some street rappers as part of his prep to get the mannerisms right. Videos have emerged of him attending a rapping session at a workshop, and they show Singh pretty much nailing it – why are we not surprised?

Ranveer will play the character of Naezy in the film, and when Naved was asked recently about Ranveer portraying his character he said, “I like the guy. We worked together for a song in Hey Bro. He is a versatile actor and I have no doubts that he can effortlessly play an emperor in Padmavati and a rapper in this film.” Right said, bro!
