Our gal in the West, Priyanka Chopra will arrive home this weekend for a nice longish Christmas break. With the mid-season finale of her American TV show ‘Quantico’ wrapped up, she also has plans to take off on a five-day holiday with family and close friends on New Year’s Eve.
Of course, when it’s the globally popular celebrity PC, it can never be just a lazy kinda lolling-around break! Here’s a peep at what’s in store…

The Numero Uno act at the Zee Cine Awards
She is pegged to be the star attraction of the night, and will be part of the finale, performing her greatest hits. She will be performing at an awards show after two years and it’s the only one she will be doing. No wonder, she has ensured that it will be well worth her while. The actress will reportedly earn an eye-watering Rs.4-5 crore for her 5-minute performance. That works out to a cool crore per minute!
Inspirational talk
On December 26, this Unicef goodwill ambassador Priyanka Chopra will deliver an inspirational talk on 'Breaking the Glass Ceiling, Chasing a Dream' as part of The Penguin Annual Lecture 2017. She sure ticks all the right boxes for this honour. Penguin Random House India has been gushing about her being “an icon for today's young Indians who identify with her drive, passion, intelligence and charisma. She has been a social media trendsetter and has a massive fan base across the globe… Much loved and admired as an artiste by people in India and around the world, she is also recognized as a global Indian - a woman who has broken the glass ceiling to reach the highest echelons of international stardom - and for her philanthropic work as Unicef's global goodwill ambassador.”
…And a doctorate too!
We had better practice adding ‘Dr’ as a prefix to the actress’ name! She will also visit her hometown of Bareilly where she will be awarded an honorary doctorate from her University.
