Princely Pursuits: Li’l Taimur goes horse-riding with Daddy

Taimur Ali Khan’s first birthday approaches on December 20 and the celebrations have already begun in right royal fashion. Aunt Karisma has been generously sharing glimpses into the family’s festivities at the Pataudi Palace, near Gurgaon. Think fairy-light-bedecked trees, hanging lanterns and the glow of happiness in the lustrous corridors of the elegant Ibrahim Kothi… Warm campfires to beat the chilly nights – it is currently dropping to single digits!…

The Nawab himself posing on the manicured lawns, flanked by his effortlessly glam wife and sister-in-law… Languorous moments soaking in the peace and quiet… Posing for family pics with the kids in cheery reds… Steaming hot traditional winter food topped with white butter… Glimpses of the stately palace with blossoming trees… And best of all, the sight of the little prince, Taimur himself in his father’s strong arms, sitting astride a beautiful steed, as his gorgeous mother stands alongside, coffee (or is it green tea) mug in hand!

There has been considerable speculation about Taimur’s first birthday party since a while now. Karisma Kapoor had earlier revealed, “Yes, Taimur’s birthday is arriving and it is a special moment for us. The family is really very excited and thrilled about the same. We will have a family get together of sorts, and will not be having a big celebration.”
This was followed by Kareena confirming, “It’s going to be a family affair and not a big Bollywood party like how everyone sees it. It’s his first birthday and he should be with his family - his parents and his grandparents. It’s going to be a small intimate thing.”

Most recently, Taimur’s grandmother Sharmila Tagore had revealed, “He’s too young to understand, let alone appreciate large gatherings. So it will just be the family this birthday for Taimur. Her (Kareena) parents Babita and Randhir, her sister Karisma will also be there besides Saif, me, Saba and Soha. I think it’s important for a child to do what he or she is comfortable with and not what we want for them.”

As D-day draws nearer, the numbers will marginally grow with the addition of Bebo’s best buds, Amrita and Malaika Arora and Karan Johar, who will most likely tote his adorable twins along. We can’t wait!
