Virushka prefer to ignore the knock about their ‘unpatriotic’ wedding

What’s a wedding without a controversy? Even Virushka’s perfect nuptials have generated some unexpected displeasure in the heart of a certain BJP MLA from Madhya Pradesh.
The legislator from Guna, Panna Lal Shakya, while inaugurating a ‘Skill India Centre’, told the gathering, “Virat earned money in India... But he didn’t find any place to marry in the country. Is Hindustan untouchable?”

“Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Vikramaditya, Yudhishthir got married on this land,” he added, “You all must have got married here. None of us goes to a foreign country to get married ... (Mr. Kohli) earned money here and spent billions there (Italy)... (he) doesn’t have any respect for the country. This proves he is not a patriot.”

Drawing an analogy with the trainees at the Skill India Centre, he declared, “After getting trained, you all should work here in the country. This would be the biggest national service. Otherwise, earn money and go to Italy to marry like Virat, enjoy picnic and come back.”
There was more criticism directed towards Italy… “If you think minutely, then you will know that the dancers of Italy become millionaires here and you are taking country’s money there. Then what will you give to the country? Howsoever big one may be, he can’t become our ideal person. Our ideal person is one who is honest to the country and earns money through hard work.”

It is not clear how the newlyweds are reacting to this criticism, though the couple is very much online. The very same day, Kohli responded to his colleague Rohit Sharma's congratulatory wedding message, with a nice shot of wit. Rohit Sharma, who is captaining India, in Kohli’s absence tweeted, “Congratulations you two! @imVkohli I’ll share the husband handbook with you. @AnushkaSharma, keep the surname ????”

Virat replied, “Haha thanks Rohit, and please do share the Double Hundred Handbook as well.”

Rohit is the only batsman to have hit three double centuries in ODI cricket, a record that has yet to be achieved by Kohli. Earlier, Anushka too had congratulated Rohit for his 'splendid knock' and thanked him for wishes.

…As to the ‘knock’ from the angry gent in Guna, some wise words are better ignored!
