Greatest Actor - Amitabh Bachchan

“Amitji bahaut humble hai. Whenever Amitji comes on stage he always hopes to create something new. His ability and nervousness on the stage shows he is the greatest actor.”

Loving awards

“It’s a strange thing but I love awards! When I got my first Filmfare award that night I truly felt my parents were seeing my work... I have always liked awards. It's not to personally convince myself and it's not also to profess to the world but I just like awards. And all the sports when I participated, giving everything to it was important but holding a trophy is important. The feeling has continued. I love the feeling when the national anthem is playing. I play Ludo on the Anand Rai film and I like it when I win...”

Hosting Highs

“I come from a theatre background I have a sense of humor on a personal and professional level. I like to make people smile. My wife explained to me, ‘When you started off you were a junior now you are senior and now it might not look good. It might happen that it becomes insensitive’. Normally when I am going to do something that's going to be funny but might hurt people emotionally, then I call and ask them. Earlier years it was easier now it's bit difficult. Now I feel that the trend has been pushed too much... now I try to curtail it.”

Performance Perks

“When actors come and perform it's nice. I really enjoy Madhuri Dixit performing on stage. I enjoy the performances of Hrithik, Shahid and A R Rahman.”

Fave new films

“I saw Lipstick Under My Burkha, Shubha Mangal Savdhan, Tiger Zinda Hai and I also saw Bareilly Ki Barfi which was very sweet. I really appreciate it when actors put their hard work and perform. I have watched Lipstick Under My Burkha just to sound intellectual!”

Turning a new leaf

“I will show to the world that I come on time but people don’t come on time! I am trying to change for the better, I am trying to control my smoking habits as well. I am trying to sleep early as well and come on time at events. Tumlog ab darr ke rehna mujhse. When I become organised, it will be dangerous for others.”

Favourite Host

“I think nobody is better than me! I think I host really well. I'm impromptu, I'm handsome, I talk in Hindi and English... If there is Filmfare for Best Host I should get.... Everyone is nice but I'm really nice!”
