Twinkle climbs trees, Akshay fishes… It’s fun galore in Cape Town

It’s Twinkle Khanna’s birthday and the lucky lady is celebrating it with her husband in gorgeous Cape Town, South Africa. The stunning 43-year-old, well known for her wit, wisdom and writing skills, is having herself a fun time with family, as her posts show. For one, she has been doing something not many 40-somethings would attempt – climbing trees! Twinkle has actually been clambering up some rather large trees, along with family, and posing amidst the branches. She shared an image of the same, captioned, “I want to be like a child again-to climb trees and perch on branches, only because the tree exists and so do I.”

Dishy hubby Akshay indulged in a spot of romantic fishing, as he sat on the pier with his wife and appeared intent on reeling a catch in. He captioned his post, “Deep blue sea and skies to match, long conversations and fishing for a catch.” Of course, the real ‘catch’ here is debatable; if you were to ask us Twinkle got the best catch – Akshay himself!

We first got a peek into their vacay when Akshay shared a lovely post featuring his daughter Nitara and Valentino, the son of their house help in Cape Town. “Happiness is meeting an old friend and starting exactly where you left off :) Nitara meets Valentino 2.0,” he wrote, proving that Twinkle is not the only one in the family with a flair for words.

Apparently, the happy holiday-makers will be in beautiful South Africa till January 3. Akshay has a large soft spot for Cape Town and has visited it several times in the past. He has even revealed that Cape Town is among his favourite destinations in the world and he would love to spend even more time there if he could. Buzz goes that this very successful star also owns a sea-facing home – more a sprawling mansion, apparently - in Cape Town, which is fully functional all through the year. The staff is almost like family now and they also watch out for his little daughter. It is on vacation here that Akshay and his son Aarav, who apparently wants to be a chef, often tinker around in the kitchen, trying out new recipes.

There could be no better way to ring in the New Year, we think!
