Akshay Kumar’s PadMan that was expected to release on Republic Day along with Siddharth Malhotra’s Aiyaary will now release a day earlier, i.e. on the 25th of January. And Twinkle Khanna broke the news in her usual quirky funny manner on Twitter, writing, “Like a friend said 'A day early just like your period sometimes :)' Here comes Padman on 25th January 2018! #PadMan” We’re not sure we’ll ever stop loving this woman.

Earlier when both the movies were scheduled to release on the same date, it caused quite a stir among people. Rumours starting churning about Akshay and Neeraj Pandey, Aiyaary’s director having a fallout. Neeraj Pandey recently produced Akshay’s blockbuster ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ and has worked with Akshay in other films such as Special 26, Baby and Rustom for which the actor won a National Award in 2017.

However speaking to a leading media about their release clash, the Khiladi actor said, “Both the films are absolutely different. Neeraj is a dear friend of mine. There is nothing like clash. The word clash is media created. My film might get screened in 2,800 screens or so. Their film would be in 1,600-1,800 or more. There are 4,000-5,000 screens so how come there is a clash. That film is different and so is ours. So there is no clash as such.”
Well thankfully, that path is no more and all’s well in Tinsel Town.
PadMan is a biography of activist Arunachalam Muruganantham who took upon himself to provide sanitary napkins to poor women in rural areas. Aiyaary is a story about two Indian army officers, a mentor and his protege and their forthcoming and hardships.
