How Ranveer deflected attention from his boo-boo…

So, the best of us make silly mistakes now and then but when you are Ranveer Singh doing it in front of social media’s millions, nothing goes unnoticed or unpunished! The star, a football player and fan himself, who was recently signed on as brand ambassador for the English football club Arsenal, realised this the hard way…
While he faithfully tweeted all the updates from the big game on Sunday night which saw Arsenal play Nottingham Forest, he unknowingly made a small glitch... Of course it wasn’t that small for the Arsenal fans!

Every time he shared an update, he ended up tagging the Premier League in every post, instead of tagging the FA cup, which is a completely different tournament! Naturally, this gaffe attracted considerable attention and censure. Fans rushed in to comment on the mistake. While one user put it simply, “Baba its #FA Cup,” others added, “I know in contracts they must have said to tag Premier League in tweets, but baba FA Cup chalu hai yaar!”

In fact, some fans even got into arguments, with some claiming he wasn’t entirely wrong as being the ambassador of the Premier League he would be interested in how the top leagues in the team are doing in the domestic tournaments. Some, of course, were downright blunt, stating, “I don’t know what kind of weed premier league officials smoked before they made you ambassador.”

Ranveer evidently tried to deflect attention from his boo-boo, posting a rap on his Instagram account. It soon went viral on all his many fan pages, given it is reportedly the title song of Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The video showed him recording a rap for the film, which also stars Alia Bhatt. The video proved Ranveer’s claim of long ago that he was a bad singer but a good rapper. A better rapper than a football team brand ambassador too, perhaps!
