Parineeti in Kesari and we had told you this last October!

We hate to say we told you so… but we so love that we are right, as well!
Karan Johar, producer of Kesari, has ended the suspense over who would star opposite Akshay Kumar in this film based on the Battle of Saragarhi. “The lead actress in Kesari is…….Parineeti Chopra,” he has announced.

Of course, Johar’s announcement only confirms what we at PeepingMoon.com had told you way back in October 2017. Amidst swirling rumours that Katrina Kaif would bag the Kesari lead, we had brought you the exclusive news that Kaif would not be replacing Parineeti Chopra opposite Akshay Kumar in the Anurag Singh directorial.

Our sources had informed that the news being propagated on many websites was totally off the mark, and that Parineeti would very much play the wife of Akshay’s character Havildar Ishar Singh in the period war drama.

With Kesari slated to go on the floor in January 2018, certain earlier media reports had said that Parineeti would not be on board because the actress’ dates had already been given to Vipul Shah for Namaste Canada. This was supposed to be the reason why Karan had approached Katrina for the role, instead.
Katrina was said to be keen on doing the film because it had earlier been reported that

Salman Khan was co-producing it with Karan and she was friendly with all three – Akshay, Salman and Karan. The news had caught the fancy of Akshay and Katrina fans because this Bollywood pair had ruled the box office in the early 2000s with a string of super hit films. However, due to different professional commitments, they had not worked together since Tees Maar Khan in 2010.

Well, those fans just have themselves a long wait and it is Parineeti who waltzes off with the role after all. Yes, just like we had said!
