It is the first time Sonam Kapoor has teamed up with Akshay Kumar, and she has been showering him with praise. She had taken to Twitter to share her appreciation of her co-star, writing, “Such a pleasure working with the indomitable Akshay Kumar. He was the perfect person to play the role of #Padman and has brought a sense of humour and love to the film.”

Of course, we wouldn’t blame her if she wanted to hit him hard after what he did at today’s PadMan song launch – asked her point-blank if she was getting married this year! The event saw a host of inventors sitting on stage, while the cast sat in the audience in the front row. And then it happened that in the middle of the Q&A, they were discussing preparing food. Sonam was narrating how her dad Anil told her there was no need for her to go into the kitchen. She was their partner and could help them with professional matters, she said. And then as to the question about whether she could cook, she giggled, “When it comes to food, I really like… eating!”

Then she looked across and said that since Akshay could cook, maybe he would like to have a certain kitchen appliance. Without missing a beat, Akshay retorted, “I was just thinking… I have a question: Are you getting married this year?” The entire gathering burst into cheers and laugher, as Sonam was left blushing and stumped. He suggested that since marriage was on the cards, he could buy the appliance especially for her! “Or then maybe your husband can cook for you,” he joked.

He also said that, "If Sonam gets married this year, then I'm gifting her an automatic food maker. " "I lost my father to cancer. I don't want anyone to lose their dear ones to any fatal disease. Someone should innovate something like taking a selfie every week of the entire family so all these diseases can be recognized early on," he added.

Rumours about the Sonam-Anand wedding have acquired steam after the actress was spotted shopping for exclusive jewellery at the Raj Mahtani store in Kolkata. She was supposedly accompanied by her future mother-in-law, Mrs. Ahuja. Recently it also made headlines that sister Rhea was allegedly planning a super luxurious honeymoon for her sister and brother-in-law. They are touted to wed this March at Umaid Bhavan palace, Jodhpur, in an event that will be the sensation of the decade.
