Twinkle wishes Padmaavat could have come at another date…

Trust Twinkle Khanna to go ahead and address the elephant in the room! Team PadMan has been making all the politically correct sounds about Padmaavat coming in on their release date, January 25. “It is not about competition, it is a very big day, a big week, so all the films can come. Both the films can release on that day. Every film has the right to release whenever they (makers) want, and I am happy for them,” Akshay had maintained when word first got out about Bhansali’s period film clashing with his social entertainer.

His co-star, Sonam Kapoor too had said, “It is not announced officially, isn't it? If it is, it is good. There is a need for competition when it comes to films and (it is) high time that the film releases. Good cinema is good cinema, I don't believe in competition.”

Now, however, that the film has been officially confirmed to release on January 25, the mood has distinctly changed. Twinkle, who is the co-producer and the writer of the original story, has chosen to speak out on the same. “It’s not pleasant for both [the parties] and will impact both,” she said in a recent interview. “But they have also been through enough of their own hurdles. But I wish they would have come a week earlier or a week after us preferably. I am sure Mr [Sanjay Leela] Bhansali has made a wonderful movie but we are very confident of our content. So, I am not apprehensive, and we are not going to move or anything because we are very happy with what [date] we have.”

Turning the conversation to her husband, star-producer Akshay Kumar, she pointed out, “He has been making relevant choices. He has also been undergoing a personal evolution. What I find remarkable, as somebody who has been with him for almost 18 years now, is that he isn’t afraid to take leaps and change with times and grow. Even his thought process vis-à-vis what he would think 10 years ago and now, is evolving. That’s [how] all of us [are] at this age.”

Films might clash at the box office but there are no clashes happening on the personal front here!
