Even more exciting that some of the storylines in films, is the drama that goes on behind their release dates (right, Padmaavat, PadMan, Aiyyary?) Now more surprises in store. Karan Johar coming out to reveal the second poster along with the date of his upcoming production, Student of the Year 2, starring Tiger Shroff – November 23, 2018 - has already had its domino effect.
It came as something of a surprise, for wasn’t Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 also supposed to release on that very same date? In early November last year, trade analyst Taran Adarsh had written to confirm, “Super 30, the Anand Kumar biopic, to release on 23 Nov 2018… Stars Hrithik Roshan… Directed by Vikas Bahl. The Anand Kumar biopic starring Hrithik is produced by Phantom and Reliance Entertainment.”

Now, in a not so great feeling of déjà vu, Adarsh has come out to state, “Super30, the Anand Kumar biopic that was slated for release on 23 Nov 2018, will now release on 25 Jan 2019... Stars Hrithik Roshan... Directed by Vikas Bahl... #RepublicDayWeekend.”
Clearly, it made much better sense to push back this Vikas Bahl-directorial to next year, than risk a collision with a Dharma production!

Filming for this biopic on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar, who coaches underprivileged students to enter IIT, has already begun. Hrithik had marked the occasion which coincided with Basant Panchmi, tweeting, “On the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja and Basant Panchami, I am beginning my journey of Super 30 where I am playing a teacher for the first time. May the Goddess of learning to bless this effort.”
There is still an element of suspense regarding the actress who will play Hrithik’s wife in the film. While reports indicate that it will be TV actress Mrunal Thakur, an official statement is yet to be made. The real-life hero of the film, Anand Kumar, meanwhile has already been sharing his belief that Bahl will &; make a heartfelt film; He has, needless to add, also been gushing about Hrithik. “I am a rooted guy so I feel some level of an emotional quotient is required to live my life on screen. I have seen that in Hrithik - on and off-screen. I have full faith in his capabilities.”
