Despite being banned in several states, the film has had smashing numbers at the box office and not just in India! The movie beat Tiger Zinda Hai and Dangal in US, New Zealand and Germany, while Baahubali in Australia. Winning hearts all around the world, in Australia it earned Rs 7 crore while in the UK and Ireland, it earned about Rs 5 crore.

The magnum opus came under a lot of fire by the fringe groups for alleged "misrepresentation" and "distortion of facts". Padmaavat is based on 16th-century poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi's PadmaavatThe film, produced by Sudhanshu Vats, Ajit Andhare and Bhansali.

Just like the saying goes "After hitting rock bottom, there is only one way to go, up." This magnum opus hasn't looked back ever since!
