Deepika reigns as the 'Most Talked About Celeb' in India

It’s no surprise that Rani Padmini a.k.a. Deepika Padukone is loved by all. Be it just her quirky self or her larger than life roles, this actress has been winning hearts (except for Karni Sena of course) since Om Shanti Om. And while we’re on the subject of winning hearts, Bollywood's current badass Alauddin Khilji a.k.a Ranveer Singh is right on the top with our Padmini.

And looks like social media ain’t lying. The most anticipated film since 2017, Padmaavat which released on January 25, had everyone talking! And among the starcast, Deepika and Ranveer were the most talked!

According to social media survey by the US based Media-Tech startup Score Trends in India, Deepika and Ranveer reigned as the most talked about celebrity of the recent times in female and male category respectively. While co-star Shahid Kapoor stood in the fifth position.

While Deepika is leading the charts with an index of 95.80, Priyanka falls second with a score of 35.98 followed by Sonam with a score of 22.75.

Among the men, Akshay Kumar stands on the 2nd position with a score of 81.03 marginally losing to Ranveer with a score of 81.25. Shah Rukh Khan stands on the third place with a score of 57.51.

Safe to say, our Queen Padmini has reigned the whole of India, surpassing Ranveer as well!

“Both Ranveer and Deepika have been trending across all social platforms, publications, news broadcast and digital mediums. The trends forecast that they might continue to do so due to the enormous success of their film Padmaavat,” says Ashwani Kaul, Co-Founder of Score Trends.

When asked about the criteria for achieving these scores, Kaul added, “ These numbers are picked from more than 600 news sources across 14 languages in India. Our sources include Facebook, Twitter, Print Publications, Viral News across social media, broadcast and digital platforms. Various sophisticated algorithms then help process this massive amount of data and arrive at the scores and rankings”.

Score Trends has classified the celebs into various sub-categorized. Where Deepika and Ranveer fall into the 'Youthful', Priyanka Chopra comes second amongst other females and falls under the 'Prime' category. Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, is categorized as 'Mature' and comes a close second to Ranveer.

With the entire backlash and the threats the film faced earlier, after its release, the numbers at box office keep churning more.

Be it posters, songs or literally any topic, Deepika shone as the Rajputani Queen and the iconic avatar of the royal queen has become the face to reckon with while Ranveer's monstrous performance as Alauddin Khilji has once again proved why he's among the best.
