The new teaser of Shoojit Sircar’s October is out and it’s poignant and beautiful.
Leading man Varun Dhawan shared it on Twitter, saying, “A movie very close to my heart.” Haunting music plays as the actor is seen standing under the bare branches of trees, with the sun peeping through. In a dark room elsewhere, a woman gazes out of the barred window. A beautiful flower is picked up…and drops back onto the grass. A declaration of love that was never made, a romantic proposal left unsaid? We are entranced!

Talking about his first venture with Shoojit Sircar, Varun had earlier said, “I have been an ardent fan of Shoojit da's work and have always wanted to work with him. October is a beautiful story in which I play a character with many layers. It's a difficult character to play. I just want to surrender to my part and show people a new side of me. Shoojit da, Ronnie (Lahiri) and Juhi (Chaturvedi) have always made good cinema. I feel grateful to join their team.”

Speaking about working with Shoojit, who has captured attention with his stunning films including Piku, Madras Café, Vicky Donor and Yahaan, Varun had shared, “I am definitely happy and excited. What’s amazing about him (Shoojit) is that he is very sure about his vision… I am trying to get into that world, understand it, and the way the film is going to breathe and feel. It’s very different from anything I have done before.”
In January this year, Varun had posted a beautiful picture from the sets of October, writing, “First time shot a film poster in complete natural light just surrounded by nature and realness. Hope what I have gone through in this film comes alive for everyone soon. #October13thApril”
A day later, he had shared a teaser of the film featuring the lead actress Banita Sandhu, writing, “This year #October is coming April and will stay with you forever #October13thApril #octoberinapril” ‘… And stay with you forever.”
We get the feeling he isn’t exaggerating.
