The girl Aamir first lost his heart to, hope you’re reading this!

For all those silent lovers afraid of revealing their feelings to the object of their affection, you’ve got company. Aamir Khan was once very reticent and could never bring himself to let the girl he loved know that he had feelings for her. A super cute sharing from the PK star about his ‘pehla nasha’…

“Believe it or not, I fell in love with a girl for the first time when I was 10 years old. Very few people know about this. I had joined tennis coaching at the time. We were a large group, around 40-50 of us. There was a girl there and seeing her I was absolutely speechless. The first time I saw her, it was pehla nasha, exactly pehla nasha! I fell head over heels in love with her, I was totally besotted by her, totally in love with her.

Day and night I would think of her. There’s a line from the song, “Udta hi phiroon, in hawaon mein kayi…” It was just what I was experiencing; I was literally flying during that time. I never had the courage to go up to her and tell her of my feelings. I was young, too. She was also the same age, around 10 – 11. She was beautiful, very beautiful.

Oh, and by the way, my tennis improved vastly during this phase! I would practice a lot, reach early, leave last. I wanted to impress her as well. But after around a year-and-a-half, her family left town. It was unrequited love, silent love that was never fulfilled. I was never able to tell her.

Interestingly, the first 2-3 times I fell in love, it was the same scenario. My love was always unrequited. I was never lucky in love… now I am, then I wasn’t! I always have a special emotion in my heart for lovers who fall in love but never get the one they love. I have a special place in my heart for them. So, wishing all of you a very happy Valentine’s Day and I hope you enjoyed my ‘Pehla Nasha’. Today is a beautiful day and I wish for love and happiness in all our lives.”
