You won’t believe Shahid’s birthday plans…

Once known for his inveterate party hearty ways – remember that wild pool party some years ago in Goa? - marriage to Mira Rajput has made Shahid Kapoor a new man.
After he zapped the world by going in for an arranged marriage, the star is now a devoted family man. For New Year’s, for instance, while the rest of B-town was probably falling into their beds after some crazy partying, Shahid and Mira woke up and toodled off for a quiet brunch instead! Last year, his ‘baby-wife’ Mira had planned a pre-birthday bash for him, which was unlike any other you might have heard of in B-wood… It was a non-alcoholic ‘healthy’ party at their residence, to which all Shahid’s close friends were invited.

Maybe it wasn’t such a great idea after all, because this year, the Kapoors are doing away with the party altogether!

Word comes in that Shahid, who has started shooting for Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu on Wednesday in Uttarakhand, will be taking a short break from the shoot for his birthday on February 25. And no, he will not be flying off to the Maldives as seems to be in fashion these days. The actor, who will turn 37, will ring in his special day with his special peeps – wife Mira and daughter Misha – attending a satsang in Beas!

Along with the birthday boy in the holy river town of Beas, will be his parents-in-law, Bela and Vikramaditya Rajput. The Rajputs, like Shahid’s dad, Pankaj Kapur, belong to the Radha Soami spiritual group. The sect is a philosophical organisation based on spiritual teachings of all religions.

In fact, it was at a similar satsang that Shahid and Mira had first met each other, along with their respective families. It had been reported that the leader of the group, Baba Gurinder Singh was glad that the couple had decided to tie the knot and blessed them.Both Shahid and Mira apparently follow the Baba’s advice in all things. They had even gone to Beas to ask him if the name they chose (Misha) for their child was the right one. What’s more, even when it came to signing Padmaavat, Shahid did so only after his guru said yes.
Back to his spiritual birthday plans, Shahid will apparently be flying to Delhi after which they will travel to Beas together.
