A grand way to mark Sridevi’s 50 years in films…

When you’re Sridevi, you don’t have to lift a finger - the world takes the initiative when it comes to marking your golden jubilee in films! The 53-year-old actress, who completes 50 years in films, will be the subject of a special documentary created by a Bangalore-based fan club. The five-part docu-drama series will feature her life and achievements in films.

The co-founders of the club have already had several meetings with Boney Kapoor, Sridevi’s filmmaker husband and shared their plans for their project. The hour-long films will apparently combine archival footage, and interviews with Sri’s co-stars from the South film industries as well as Bollywood, and family. Also included will be Sridevi’s interviews in magazines and her hit magazine covers from the Eighties.

The second and third films to follow, will chronicle her debut in Hindi films, as a child artist in the 1975 hit Julie. It will also cover her first adult role at 13 in the Tamil film Moondru Mudichu.

Sridevi had made her debut as a leading lady in Hindi cinema with Solva Sawan (1978).
