Say ‘Kangana’ and can controversy be far behind? Whether spontaneous or deliberate, the girl manages to keep hitting the headlines conveniently around the time of the release of her films. However, she seems to have learnt a lesson from the backfiring of her audacious mud-slinging before the release of Simran. The escalating of her battle of words with Hrithik didn’t help her cause – in fact, it led to censure from fans who saw it as a blatant attempt to milk an old scandal dry to ensure publicity for her film.
Her war of words with Karan Johar over the nepotism issue was also proved to be more hot air, as she went on to appear with him on a TV show, laughing and hugging for the cameras.

…Which is why her recent moves are also being looked at with some suspicion! Her name suddenly hit the headlines when it was revealed that the release date of her period film, Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi was being postponed. It was touted that the release date had been shifted from its March date to August 15, to capitalize on the national holiday and also make the most of the patriotic spirit of the film.
The reason it raised eyebrows, however, was because it was pointed out that Kangana’s film would clash with Akshay Kumar’s Gold. This Reema Kagti film, which is based on the first Olympic gold medal won by the Indian hockey team after India gained Independence, had already declared Independence Day 2018 as its release date. With no confirmation on the Manikarnika release date in sight, it could just be a ploy to ensure the film and its leading lady remain in the news.
The same goes for the latest development, which sees Kangana apparently hiring her alleged ex, Hrithik Roshan’s manager, Anjali Atha. According to a news report, Hrithik’s manager of more than 10 years has now been retained by Ms Ranaut. The lady in question had been responsible for handling Hrithik's work during the time his controversy with Kangana raged. Now that she has crossed over to the enemy camp, so to speak, we can perhaps expect more fireworks.
Like we said, there’s no keeping Kangana and controversy apart!
