Secret Superstar mints Rs.750 crore in China and Aamir will party!

The Chinese box office is making no secret of its love for Secret Superstar. The film is on a rampage in China, going strong at the box office even 28 days after its release. It has already generated $117.61 million at the box office which equals Rs.750.69 crore. The film looks unlikely to match the success of Dangal at the Chinese box office – Dangal had collected around $193 million – but the feat is still enormous.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh dubbed it “truly a blockbuster of epic proportions in China.”
Naturally, its producer Aamir Khan, who also essays a role in the film, is chuffed. And now he will happily give in to the Secret Superstar team’s demand for a party! Apparently, the cast and crew have been asking for a party to celebrate the film’s awesome success in China since some time now. However, for some reason the canny Khan kept delaying. He had initially informed them that they would celebrate once the film crossed the 100 crore-mark in China – it did. Then he upped the ante, saying it would be celebration time when the film’s collections reached Rs.500 crore – it accomplished that as well!

Now, the superstar has run out of excuses – and the team has probably run out of patience too! So, even though he has been busy with filming Thugs Of Hindostan, he has settled on a date to celebrate the success of the film. He has supposedly juggled his night shoot timings to shoot during the day on February 20 and 21 so that he can host the party on Wednesday evening.

Word has it that the party will be a warm and close-knit affair for the crew, some of his friends and filmmakers like PK and 3 Idiots director Rajkumar Hirani and Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari. Naturally, Secret Superstar leading lady Zaira Wasim and its director Advait Chandan will be headlining the guest list.

While the film did an average business at the Indian box office, its success in China has come as something of a surprise. Of course, it will receive serious competition come March, when Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan hits China!
