Deepika Padukone who is still enjoying the success of her last film, Padmaavat has also started the journey for her next venture. Vishal Bhardwaj has roped in Deepika and Irrfan for his upcoming film. A report suggested that the film has been titled as 'Rani' and is based on mafia queen Sapna Didi's life.
However, quashing the rumours, Vishal today tweeted, "So amusing to find out that everyone except me knows the title of my upcoming film! This is absolutely false news, the movie is not titled 'Rani' and it is not based on Sapna Didi's life."

The director has denied the rumours about the film being based on Sapna Didi, who was the mafia queen of Mumbai in the '80s. That means we are in for another huge surprise. Mr. Bhardwaj has had a great record in the past for adapting books into films, like Maqbool and Haider from Macbeth and Hamlet. We wonder if this film will be another adaption of a Shakespear book.
Earlier, speaking about the untitled film, Deepika told a leading daily, "It's a film that, Vishal sir had given me the book almost two years ago and he wanted me to read that chapter. I read the whole book and of course, I read that chapter. It stayed with me. I went back to him saying that I was excited to do this film. At that point, he kind of moved on and was doing something else. It changed hands a couple of times, somebody else was meant to direct it and then, I think destiny just had a role to play in it and he's come back."
Meanwhile, let's wait for the official confirmation.
