It’s a good time to be Bhumi Pednekar.
For one, her name has been featured in the Forbes India 30 Under 30 list. The list celebrates 30 young achievers across the country for rewriting the rules of the game, and playing it hard too. Bhumi is naturally thrilled about it.
“I think that richness is a very subjective thing,” she laughed, about her making it to the list. “I am rich, thanks to the love and appreciation that I have got over the past few years. I remember when they had started the list, I dreamt of being on it one day. Now, being featured on the list makes me really happy. I feel privileged and honoured to be featured among such amazing people from different fields including innovation, sports and entertainment.’’

The actress also represented Indian cinema at the Berlin International Film Festival, as she was part of the delegation headed by Karan Johar. “Honestly, it feels amazing and special, as it has happened so early in my career. I will complete three years in Bollywood on February 27. It especially feels nice to know that all this is happening only because of my films. It shows that your films have left a mark. Whatever little knowledge I have, people listened to it,’’ she said, sounding suitably awe-struck.
Last but not least is her film with Sushant Singh Rajput – Son Chiriya. She is openly rapturous about this Abhishek Chaubey film she is currently shooting for. “Son Chiriya is a special film with lovely co-stars and a sorted out director. I am happy the way film is shaping up. I feel like my hard work has paid off. By now, I am clear that there are no shortcuts and the only way to do it is to slog your a** off. Sushant is a very hard-working actor. We complement each other’s performances. Abhishek has always been on my list of directors. So, I feel extremely lucky to be working with him,’’ she declared.
