With less than a week more to go, Pari's screamers have piqued the viewer's interest already. Although the film promising not to be another ghost story, its supernatural elements have spooked every Bollywood buff.
Anushka Sharma recently shared a behind the scenes look at her upcoming thriller. The clip walks us through what went behind creating Kalapori's look played by Mansi Multani.
"We work in films and we know that its not real and that it's all created. But the first time when Mansi came on set as Kalapori, I was spooked." said lead actress, Anushka.

Mansi then indulges into all the work she put to look the part. "First up, I have never experienced prosthetics like this. We don't do it in India as much. It was such a pleasure working with Clover (Wootton - British Prosthetic designer), such good experience in this realm of makeup. My first meeting with Clover was when she had to talk a mould of my face. That was very interesting. For a person who is claustrophobic, it's not the best. Thankfully I am not."
"I imagine, ordinarily this might have taken 3-4 hours but with me, it took not more than 2," she added.
Speaking to a media house, the actress said, "It took a good amount of time to change into Kalapori. It needed two hours of make-up every time. But the hours of sitting ramrod straight to achieve the look was totally worth the feedback we are getting. I never thought I would say this, but I thoroughly enjoyed being the face of fear," says Mansi.
Even director Prosit Roy was shocked at the turnout. He said, "On the day of the look test, when I saw Anushka and Kalapori, I was like 'Wow!'"
Award-winning British make-up artist Clover Wootton, who has been working on Anushka's look in the film, faced the biggest challenge to make the face of fear tangible.
"While creating Anushka's look was challenging, what was even tougher was to create Kalapori. We had already established that we were going to need heavy prosthetics. It was hardest for me to create something like that in a really short time and without any real reference," says Wootton.
"How does one know for sure that you have decoded the look for this character with rotting flesh -- creepy and yet human! Now having seen final cuts of the film, I can heave a sigh of relief. It's looking scary even to me," adds the artist.
Pari, produced by Clean Slate Films and presented by KriArj Entertainment and Kyta Productions, will be released worldwide by Pooja Films on March 2.
