5.50 PM - Following completion of post-mortem analysis, Dubai Police HQ today stated that the death of Indian actress #Sridevi occurred due to drowning in her hotel apartment’s bathtub following loss of consciousness. Dubai Police has transferred the case to Dubai Public Prosecution, which will carry out regular legal procedures followed in such cases: Govt of Dubai Media Office

5.28 PM -  Sridevi's death certificate issued 

4.40 PM -  Sridevi's death certificate states that her death was due to Accidental Drowning, reports Gulf News

3.00 PM - Delay due to nature of the case, officials wants to cover all the aspects. Consulate officials cannot confirm what time Sridevi's body will be handed over to the family.

1:30 PM - Dubai Police take Boney Kapoor’s statement

The Dubai Police, it is learned, took a detailed statement from Boney Kapoor about the circumstances leading to the death of his actress-wife Sridevi. Boney is reportedly the person who found Sridevi’s lifeless body on the bathroom floor of their suite in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers on Saturday night.

Four senior officers of the Dubai Police spoke to Boney over three-and-half hours. His statement was filmed on video as well. The police also took down the statements of three other people who with Boney brought Sridevi to the Rashid Hospital. He reportedly called them when he discovered her body. The police finally took statements of two doctors and five attendants from the hospital.

12 PM - Officials hopeful that Sridevi's body will be ready for repatriation with all completed procedures by 1 to 2 pm, Dubai time.

10.00 PM - Sridevi's body will not be released tonight, authorities have confirmed.

07.00 PM- Sridevi's mortal remains to be brought tonight; last rites will take place tomorrow at 11 am

04.30 PM - Sridevi will be honored with a state funeral as she has been a recipient of the Padma Shri Award, India's fourth highest civilian honor.

12.36 PM - As per UAE laws, the deceased's body has to undergo the procedure of post-mortem followed by the paperwork.

Post that, late Sridevi's body will reach Mumbai, India, around 3 pm IST.
After celebrities and Fans pay their last respects, then only the body will be taken for cremation.

The last rites may take place at Juhu based cremation ground in the late evening.

10.53 AM - Sridevi's mortal remains expected by Cargo or private jet at cargo airport terminal between 12.pm to 2 .pm according to Mumbai International Airport officials.

10.48 PM - Navdeep Suri, India's Ambassador to UAE took to Twitter to address the procedures. He said:

The media interest in untimely demise of #Sridevi is understandable. But the frenzy of speculation does not help. Imp to note that:
1. We are working with local authorities to ensure that mortal remains can be sent to India at the earliest. We are on the job.
2. We are in regular contact with the family of #Sridevi and other well-wishers. We share their pain.
3. Our experience in similar cases tells us that it does take 2-3 days to complete processes
4. We leave it to the experts to determine cause of demise Let's be responsible

8.53 PM - Anil Kapoor reaches Mumbai Airport at Mumbai Airport to receive Boney Kapoor and the late Sridevi Ji's mortal remains. 10 individuals on board (9 Indian national + 1 Australian national) including Boney Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Reena Marwah, Sandeep Marwah. Special permission is taken by authorities to give way from the same from GA terminal and not cargo.

9.43 PM - Late Sridevi's mortal remains arrives in Mumbai.

10.13 PM - Sridevi's mortal remains on the way to Kapoor Residence.

10.35 PM - Sridevi's mortal remains reaches Boney Kapoor's residence, Green Acre in Lokhandwala.
