Post Sridevi's untimely demise on Saturday night in UAE, the actress family has been trying to get her body back to the country for its last rites. But despite the efforts, Sridevi's body could not be repatriated on Sunday as the final investigation reports from Dubai Police were not ready by late evening today. However, the autopsy of the cine icon, who passed away here after a cardiac arrest, has been completed. Sridevi's body will not be released tonight, authorities have confirmed.
UAE officials have revealed that Sridevi's autopsy has been completed and the family is now awaiting laboratory reports conducted by the General Department of Forensic Evidence, Dubai, Khaleej Times reported.

Reportedly, officials also said that as per usual protocols, these tests take up to 24 hours in the case a person has died outside a hospital in Dubai. The same safety and administrative protocols are being followed by the police in this case as well.
Around 11 o’clock at night, on February 24, 2018, night, Sridevi went for a bath and allegedly suffered the cardiac arrest in the bathtub. After trying to resuscitate her, Boney and the others rushed Sridevi to Rashid Hospital but she could not be saved. The authorities took over the case immediately and provided the required assistance for the formalities.
The hotel, however, refused to comment on the matter and an employee stated that the matter is under police investigation.

The Padma Shri awardee, who has been acting in the films from the age of 4, has been part of over 300 movies in her 50 year-long career. Sridevi is survived by husband Boney Kapoor and two daughters, Jahnvi and Khushi Kapoor.
