The whole of India woke up to the tragic news of Sridevi's demise today. The actress was in Dubai at the time of her death. She was attending the wedding festivities of nephew Mohit Marwah. However, the fun celebrations of the Kapoor family ended on a tragic note this time.
Needless to say, Bollywood is shocked with this untimely demise of its queen. While condolences have been pouring in on social media from all near and dear ones, and from fans and well-wishers, veteran actor and Sridevi's Chandni co-star Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to voice his displeasure about the way television channels are reporting the news.
He wrote, "How has Sridevi all of a sudden become the “body”? All television channels reporting 'the body will be brought to Mumbai in the night!' Suddenly your individuality gets lost and becomes a mere body??"
Also sharing a picture of Sridevi, he wrote, "Woken up to this tragic news. Absolute shock. Sad. Heartfelt condolences to Boney and their two daughters! Henceforth no more Moonlit nights! Chandni gone forever. Alas!"
Well, what do you think of that?
Sridevi and Rishi Kapoor have worked in movies such as Chandni, Banjaran, Gurudev, Nagina and Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhootha among others. Chandni, which released in 1989 became one of the biggest hits of the time. It is remembered for Sridevi's versatility and a cute love story.
