6 procedures left before Sridevi’s body is flown back to India

India's first and most iconic female superstar Sridevi passed away on Saturday night in UAE, leaving behind a legacy which cannot be matched. Around 11 o’clock at night, on February 24, 2018, night, Sridevi went for a bath and allegedly suffered the cardiac arrest in the bathtub. After trying to resuscitate her, husband Boney Kapoor and the others rushed her to Rashid Hospital but she could not be saved. The authorities took over the case immediately and provided the required assistance for the formalities.

The actress' body was taken to General Department of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy, which was completed on Sunday evening and the body is likely to reach India in late afternoon hours today for performing the last rites.

What's left to be done:

1-Once forensic reports are handed over, the body will be taken to Muhaisna for embalming. The process takes 90 minutes.

2-Police need to issue a death certificate.

3-Indian consulate Dubai to cancel the passport.

4-Immigration department to complete administrative procedures.

5-Public prosecutor to give permission to hand over the body.

6-Private plane to fly the body to India.

As reported by Khaleej Times, the Officials reveal that after receiving the Police Clearance and forensic report, the other procedures including, immigration and embalming will be completed in the next 3 to 4 hours. The officials are hopeful that Sridevi's body will be ready for repatriation with all the completed procedures by 1 to 2 pm, Dubai time.

Sridevi's body is still inside at Dubai Police's Forensic department on this Monday morning. Henceforth, her last rites might not take place at 11 am India time.
