Boney Kapoor and his family flew to Chennai in a special aircraft yesterday with late Sridevi's ashes two days after she was cremated. The ashes will be immersed in Rameshwaram today according to the Hindu traditions of asthi-visarjan.
Jahnvi Kapoor, Sridevi's elder daughter, will be spending her birthday with her mother's ashes in Rameshwaram. She turns 21 today and is set to star in Karan Johar's Dhadak. Arjun Kapoor who has been beside the family and especially his father since the news first came, will not be in Rameshwaram today. The actor has already flown to Amritsar along with Parineeti Chopra. The two have started shooting for their next, Namastey England.
Sridevi passed away on the night of February 24 in the UAE. The actress was present there with her family to attend Mohit Marwah's wedding. A few days after the wedding, she decided to stay back and on Saturday she passed away due to "accidental drowning", as per Dubai authorities.

After four long days of wait, due to questioning and analyzing the situation, her mortal remains were sent back to India in a private aircraft as provided by Anil Ambani. A prayer meeting was arranged at the Celebration Sports Club in Mumbai where many celebrities turned up to pay their last respects.
Post that, the procession carrying her mortal remains, decorated with white daisies, was followed by a massive crowd of thousands of fans. Many of Sridevi's fans travelled long distances just to see her for the one last time.
