Bollywood superstar Sridevi, who passed away in Dubai on February 24, has indirectly influenced the rankings of the film industry’s actors and actresses on the popularity charts for the period March 1 to 8, says US-based media-tech startup Score Trends. Using data collected from sources like Facebook, Twitter, print publications, viral news on social media, broadcast and digital platforms across 14 languages in India, Score Trends arrives at the statistics for the Bollywood rankings from Thursday to Thursday.
While Amitabh Bachchan tops the actors’ rankings for March 1 to 8, it is Madhuri Dixit who is right on the top of the actress’ rankings. This despite the fact that both senior actors do not have films releasing soon. Both their positions have been helped by Sridevi.

According to Score Trends, it was the Big B’s outpouring of grief on Twitter and his farewell poems following Sridevi’s death, also the news of his film Brahmastra that is under shooting in Bulgaria, which saw the actor’s ranking climbing to No. 1 position this week.
Madhuri Dixit, on the other hand, came out of nowhere to beat Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor to the first spot, purely because of she too like Sridevi is an iconic actress and her grief and pain at the passing away of her contemporary showed her deep sense of loss.
Others who made the Score Trends charts because of Sridevi include Sushmita Sen whose Instagram post on how as a 14-year-old she was influenced by the great actress got her many followers on the social media. Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor, too, for being pillars of support to the late actress’ family.
Other names include Shraddha Kapoor for her upcoming film with Prabhas, Anushka Sharma because of her last Friday’s release Pari, and Ajay Devgn, who celebrated the 19th anniversary of his marriage to actress Kajol recently and for the promos of his March 16 release Raid which have begun.
