Irrfan Khan who was expected to shoot Vishal Bharadwaj's upcoming next with Deepika Padukone had to pause the shoot due to health issues. The actor was down with "jaundice" as per director Vishal Bharadwaj.
And now the actor has now taken to his social media to share a shocking yet sad news. He wrote, "Sometimes you wake up with a jolt with life-shaking you up. The last fifteen days, my life has been a suspense story. Little had I known that my search for rare stories would make me find a rare disease. I have never given up and have always fought for my choices and always will. My family and friends are with me and we are working it out the best way possible. In trying times, please don’t speculate as I will myself share with you my story within a week – ten days when the further investigations come with a conclusive diagnosis. Till then, wish the best for me.”

The news comes after Vishal Bharadwaj had announced to go on the floors with his upcoming next but had to cancel as both his co-stars were feeling under the weather.
“I am pushing back the film by a few months as both of my lead actors are down with different health problems. Irrfan is down with jaundice and it will take him a few weeks to recover, and Deepika Padukone’s back problem, which had developed during the shooting of ‘Padmaavat’, has now resurfaced,” Bhardwaj wrote on Facebook.
“In the past few weeks, I felt like I was back in the days of ‘Maqbool’ while prepping with them. Deepika and Irrfan’s look tests have come out exceptionally well, nothing like you have seen before, and it took me a moment to recognise them when I saw the test photographs,” he added.
The filmmaker said he wants both the stars to be “strong and fit” before they start shooting for the film.
