It has been a trying last couple of weeks for Janhvi Kapoor and her family. Janhvi's dear mom and superstar Sridevi passed away in Dubai. Since then, the Kapoors have been trying hard to deal with the huge loss. They have all stuck together and are being pillars of strength to each other.

Amidst the tragedy, Janhvi celebrated her 21st birthday today. She was surrounded by near and dear ones. Cousin Sonam Kapoor posted a picture on her social networking handle saying, "Kapoor and daughters." Earlier, Sonam had posted a birthday wish for Janhvi saying, "To one of the strongest girls I know, who became a woman today. Happy birthday jannu."

Janhvi also celebrated her day by spending time at an orphanage. She was seen dressed casually and having quality time with the kids there.

After her mom passed away, Janhvi penned a heartfelt note. She mentioned that though she and Khushi lost a mother, her dad had lost his Jaan. She also wrote, "There’s is a gnawing hollowness in my chest that I know I’ll have to learn how to live with. Even with all this emptiness, I still feel your love. I feel you are protecting me from sadness and pain. Every time I close my eyes, I only have good things to remember."

On the work front, Janhvi is working on the film Dhadak along with Ishaan Khatter. Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios. The film is a remake of 2016 Marathi language film Sairat.

Ishaan has been spotted visiting Janhvi often, in the past few days. The first-time co-stars share a warm and cordial friendship, which comes across on screen.

The late Sridevi was very excited to see Janhvi on the big screen. She often spoke about her daughter's career and knew that she would make it big in Bollywood some day.
