Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is seen here pouring her heart out at an event hosted by NGO Smile Train. Aishwarya praised the organization's effort for completing 500,000 free cleft surgeries. The lovely actress has been associated with this cause for some time now. She got emotional as she remembered her late father during her speech at the event.
Saying, "Every day deserves to be a day of smiles," an emotional Aishwarya thought of her father, late Krishnaraj Rai on his birth anniversary. "I am proud to be associated with Smile Train for all these years and extend my heartfelt congratulations to them for changing the lives of half a million cleft patients in India. Supporting this work of Smile Train through The Aishwarya Rai Foundation has been my small personal contribution in the larger picture of honourable, effective change in the lives of cleft patients. I look forward to continuing this journey of giving new reasons to smile to children born with clefts," she added.
On the work front, Aishwarya will next be seen in Fanne Khan. The movie is directed by Atul Manjrekar. It features Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles. The movie is a take on body shaming and stars the debutante Pihu Sand as a 17-year-old with a dream of becoming a pop star. It is an official remake of the Oscar nominated Belgian 2000 film Everybody's Famous!
The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on 13 July.
Aishwarya has also been rumoured to be in the running for the movie Jasmine. The film is based on the subject of surrogacy. Reportedly, Parineeti Chopra's name was also in the race. However, the makers revealed that it is Aishwarya who has been approached for playing the lead character in the movie.
