Trust Karan Johar to be ever so sensitive, dealing with his Dhadak leading lady, Janhvi Kapoor. After the shocking demise of Janhvi’s mother, the legendary Sridevi, Karan is ensuring that the team does not rush Janhvi back to work. He is keen that young Janhvi, who just turned 21, has time to come to terms with the changed reality of her world, before she returns to the sets.
In order to ensure she is at ease before she resumes shooting for her debut film, Dhadak, he has instructed his team to go slow on her. He understands that Janhvi will not be in a position to work for a while.

The Dharma head honcho was close to Sridevi and is very close to her daughter as well now. He had taken the budding actress Janhvi under his wing, as he groomed her for her big screen debut. When Dhadak had been announced, a thrilled Sri and Boney had spoken about how happy they were, that their daughter was in “good hands”.
Last month, Janhvi did not attend cousin Mohit Marwah’s wedding celebrations in Dubai, as she was busy prepping for her debut. The Dubai festivities ended in tragedy, with Sridevi’s sudden death. As soon as the news of Sridevi's death went viral, it was Janhvi's mentor Karan Johar who was the first to rush to her.
Apparently, Karan rushed to the Kapoors’ Green Acres apartment at Lokhandwala and immediately took her and Khushi to their uncle Anil Kapoor's residence in Juhu. Surrounded by family, it was what the girls needed as their father Boney Kapoor completed formalities in Dubai.
Karan has taken his responsibility of giving Janhvi a great debut very seriously – but then he does not take shortcuts anyway. Now, even as he gives her the time and space to get back into work mode, he is determined that Dhadak will be a film that the late Sridevi would have been proud of.
