Shoojit Sircar’s latest film that promises to have entered into territories of love, yet unexplored, October is set to release early next month. It stars Varun Dhawan and debutante Banita Sandhu in the lead roles.
Varun has already made a mark in the Bollywood show business, but what caught our attention was the newcomer and the leading lady of October. It is little known that this debutante has already worked with the director.

The simple yet beautiful story that was told through the “Doublemint’s “Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se” song was directed by Shoojit Sircar and had Banita as the female lead. The entire song depicts love but only with expressions, which made a lot of buzz after its launch.
It was at that moment, the director was convinced that he found the lead for the film he had been writing for, along with Juhi Chaturvedi.
Shoojit shared, "Everyone was in awe of Banita from the chewing gum commercial which I had directed. While I was shooting the ad film, Juhi Chaturvedi and I were also working on the script of October. One day, I clicked a picture of Banita and sent it to Juhi saying, ‘She has the potential to fit into the character that we are looking at’.”
On the completion of the script for October, the makers went on to finalize Varun for the lead role. After that, it was time to bring Banita on board and her talent on the big screen, alongside Varun. The director further adds, "Juhi, Ronnie and I zeroed in on her and we were sure that, she is the girl we should go for. My casting director also felt that she was the right person for this character.”
The makers say her performance in the film is so captivating, that, October will mark a huge milestone for Banita.
The trailer for October will be launched sometime in the next week. The film has made a lot of buzz on the internet already. With its moving teaser and an intriguing first-look poster, our excitement has only been piquing.
