After the release of the first poster of Simmba, speculation was rife over just which lucky lady would pair opposite Ranveer Singh in this Rohit Shetty directorial. Katrina Kaif’s name had been tossed around and so had Sara Ali Khan’s. However, up until mid-February, reliable sources from Dharma Productions, which is producing the Rohit Shetty directorial, had claimed that no leading lady had been signed on yet.
In fact, it was alleged that stories were even being planted about Sara being signed on, as her debut Kedarnath had hit a rocky road post differences between director Abhishek Kapoor and producers KriArj.
After months of thinking, the makers have plumped for Sara Ali Khan after all. She will pair up with Ranveer in this actioner, which will see Singh play the role of a notorious cop named Sangram Bhalerao.

It is definitely a feather in young Sara’s cap. Ranveer is one of the hottest properties in B-town right now and is appears that he can do no wrong at the box office. Their fresh pairing is definitely generating interest. Ranveer’s electric energy and Sara’s radiant beauty are sure to blend well on screen. What’s more, Simmba, a Dharma production, will ensure she is presented by Karan in the best way possible. And given Rohit Shetty’s reputation for entertaining cinema, the film is bound to grab eyeballs.
Simmba is said to be loosely based on Jr NTR’s Temper. Rohit Shetty had earlier revealed, “We have bought the rights of Temper but our film is not exactly a remake. We wanted to take four-five scenes from Temper but we thought it’s better to buy the rights. It’s what we did with Singham.”
It appears that the blocks in young Sara’s career are slowly but surely disappearing. Shooting for her tumultuous Kedarnath has been resumed as peace has been brokered between its warring makers. The film is touted to release in November.
With her second film in her kitty, she is definitely on a firmer footing in filmdom. Her worried parents, Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan are bound to be heaving a huge sigh of relief!
