Nawazuddin Siddiqui's memoir An Ordinary Life was published on 25 October 2017. In the book Nawaz has narrated his journey to stardom, the details of his love affairs, including that with his Miss Lovely co-star Niharika Singh. However, the book was withdrawn a couple of days later, due to a complaint filed with the National Commission for Women (NCW) by a Delhi lawyer on Niharika Singh's behalf.
Ever since it released, Siddiqui's book has caused him much distress.
Nawaz therefore mentioned recently that he regrets writing it. He said to a leading daily, "I think writing the book was a big mistake. I regret that. It’s sad that in a book with 209 pages, only five pages were highlighted. Everything else was ignored. It was also my fault for naming two or three people from my life back then. But I also apologized for it later.”

He added, “In a memoir you have to tell the truth. If you start compromising with fact, then it becomes lopsided and it’s also easy to glorify yourself. But I wrote the truth. I wrote about my struggles, my life, the mistakes I made when I was stupid, and how I became a better person after I learnt from my mistakes. But it backfired. If and when I write something after 10-12 years, I will write only lies. The world doesn’t deserve the truth.”
Now, what do you think of that?
After the release of his book, Nawaz's ex-girlfriend Sunita Rajwal wrote in her social media account, "Nawaz believes that I left him because he was poor and a struggler. Then what was I, Nawaz? You were at least living in your home, I was living at a friend’s house...I stopped taking your calls because just the idea of you would disgust me...I left you because you would make fun of our relationship and share intimate details about it with common friends. Then I realised what you really thought about women and love."
