Newbies needn’t struggle; Priyanka’s got you covered!

Full marks to Priyanka Chopra – the ‘Quantico’ actress is now doing her bit to support new talent.

After turning her sights on regional cinema with her production house Purple Pebble Pictures, she has now launched the studio’s website. The site includes a talent platform which will enable aspiring artists from the fields of acting, script writing, direction and other fields, to fill in the application form and possibly be chosen for a project.

This is a very welcome move in an industry that is still not too well organized when it comes to freshers looking for a professional break. Dr. Madhu Chopra, Priyanka’s mother and business partner, explains, “We are constantly looking to discover talent. It could be a skill in any area of filmmaking. Of course, writers are crucial to the process of filmmaking and since content has been one of the pillars of our banner, we want writers with a fresh approach and perspective.”

Those aspiring to be scriptwriters can send in their film scripts to the studio along with their application form. A team of curators will choose the stories that merit to be translated onto film and they will be backed by the studio.

Other such dedicated teams will select and groom new talent in different areas of filmmaking. “Anyone with the skills associated with filmmaking can apply. Enter your details and if you fit the bill for any of our upcoming projects, we will get in touch with you. The idea is to provide a platform where talent can be curated, groomed and allowed to excel. There is abundant potential but not enough opportunities,” adds Dr. Chopra.

Not surprisingly, this entire idea was Priyanka’s brainchild. “In her early days in Bollywood, Priyanka had no one she could turn to for advice. Through this website, she wants to encourage aspirants who can make it in the entertainment business,” shares her mother.

“We established Purple Pebble to promote new talents and give them the opportunities that they deserve. Despite being Miss World, it was extremely difficult for me to make a place in Bollywood. We really want to take chances with new talents and open the doors for them, be it musicians, directors, scriptwriters, actors,” Priyanka had shared last year. Well, she has lived up to her word.
