Currently, newlyweds Virat and Anushka are living in a plush rental apartment where they fork out a reported Rs.15 Lakh a month as rent. They were biding time until they moved into their own swanky 7000 sq. ft. carpet area apartment that they had already booked.
However, there has now been a sudden and shocking change in plan. In the first hiccup in their picture-perfect married life so far, they are back to hunting for a home. The Worli flat that they had paid approximately Rs.34 crore to book, is not materializing after all. Issues with the builder have allegedly seen the whole deal being called off.

It had been reported that well before his marriage, Indian cricketing captain Virat Kohli had booked a flat of his own in 2016, in Worli’s Omkar 1973 apartment complex. It was a super luxury sea-facing apartment costing a whopping Rs.34 crore.
Apparently, Virat wanted to gift his darling Anushka this apartment post their wedding. However, he has since changed his mind. After discussions with Anushka, Virat has reportedly changed his decision to purchase the flat, towards which he had already made an advance payment of Rs.20 crore.

Two reasons are behind the cancellation of this deal: Even after two years they have not received the keys to their apartment. What’s more, the delay is set to further continue as there is no clarity as to when the flat will finally be ready to be occupied.
The second reason is that instead of a flat costing Rs.34 crore, Anushka is in favour of buying a bungalow by the sea in the city. In this regard, the couple has already been exploring bungalow properties at Bandra’s Carter Road and Juhu. They have even found a bungalow in Juhu which they have both taken a strong liking to. It costs a reported Rs.75 crore.
Virat apparently prepared the cancellation deed for the Worli flat on March 20 after which he and the missus have intensified their search for their perfect home – and a bungalow, no less – by the sea.
