Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta shared a special moment on stage today as Dubey handed over the Filmfare Best Actress (Punjabi) award to Sargun.

She won it for her superlative performance in the  movie Lahoriye.

Ravi Dubey had recently mentioned that he would feel proud and privileged to work again with his wife and actress Sargun Mehta. The couple, who completed eight years of togetherness earlier this month, had featured together in shows such as 12/24 Karol Bagh and Nach Baliye.

Lahoriye is written and directed by Amberdeep Singh. It stars Amrinder Gill, Sargun Mehta, Yuvraj Hans, Nimrat Khaira, Sardar Sohi & Guggu Gill in leading roles. It released on 12 May to a positive response from both critics and audiences.

The movie is about the effects of the partition of India on Punjab. The movie deals with the modern India and a love affair breaking barriers of religion and country.

Ravi had said about his wife, "I would love to re-unite (on-screen) with Sargun. The reason is not that she is my wife. I have massive respect for her as an actor and performer. I would feel proud and privileged to act with somebody like Sargun. We have performed various times on the stage and after '...Karol Bagh', Sargun and I have not done anything in fiction or acted together. So, performing with Sargun in a film will be equivalent to performing with greatness."

Ravi is currently hosting Colors' live singing reality show Rising Star 2.

Sargun's co-star Amrinder Gill won the Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male) for the same film. The film also won an award in the Best Film category. Ksshitij Chaudhary won the Best Director award for the film Vekh Baraatan Challiyan.

Many congratulations to Sargun on this one.
