Tiger Shroff has been collecting praise galore for his action avatar in Ahmed Khan's romantic action film Baaghi 2. The film, which is a sequel to the 2016 film Baaghi, revolves around Neha (Disha Patani), who appeals to her ex-boyfriend and army man Ranveer (Tiger Shroff) to find her 3-year-old daughter Rhea, who's been kidnapped. Ranveer aka Ronny has to solve the mystery of the missing child, and he does it with loads of blazing guns, high flying kicks and extreme action.
The film is reaping rich rewards at the box office. After crossing Rs.25 crore on the first day, it has sustained through the week. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collections, tweeting, “And #Baaghi2 hits a century... 100 cr and counting... Third film to cross ₹ 100 cr mark in 2018, after #Padmaavat and #SKTKS... The film has managed this feat despite the nationwide bandh that had been called by Dalit protestors on April 2. In fact, the only film to do better business than Baaghi 2 on its first Monday was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. Baaghi 2 has even managed to break the records set by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in certain regions. Audiences are apparently lapping up not just the high-powered action, but also the chemistry between the lead pair and the villainous acts of Manoj Bajpayee, Prateik Babbar and Randeep Hooda.
A jubilant Tiger Shroff recently shared a video of himself expressing his gratitude to audiences. “I am just so thankful for all that has happened and am grateful on the behalf of the Baaghi 2 team. I am sort of speechless right now. I can’t stop saying thank you. Thank you for audiences, friends, family for showing all your love.”
Incidentally, the third part of this franchise, Baaghi 3 had already been announced with Tiger in the lead, at the trailer launch of Baaghi 2. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala had explained, “I wanted to give confidence before releasing Baaghi 2 to the director and the whole acting team and I am sure that the audience will like Baaghi 2 and help us to make part three.”
Looks like they heard him alright!
