Shah Rukh Khan sure has a lot on his plate right now. And with Zero wrapping up in less than a month, the actor is already prepping up for his next project.
Well, we knew that the Sidharth Roy Kapur's production Salute was his next to-go post Anand L Rai's Zero, but looks like he will keep it aside for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next period drama. Did we hear it right?
Bhansali has been in talks with SRK for a while now and was insistent on having him onboard for his next project, which is said to be a periodical drama. He even admitted to considering him for Shahid's role in Padmaavat but later decided against it. An insider revealed to a leading daily, "Not many know that Shah Rukh and Bhansali have been in talks for long. During a recent meeting, the director narrated his script to him. It is a fictional love story with a period setting. While Shah Rukh has given his nod in principle, the project is facing a roadblock by way of its female lead. Though the names of a few leading ladies are being thrown around, Bhansali is yet to zero in on an actress."

The duo had previously teamed up for Devdas (2002), which is definitely a timeless blockbuster. We can't wait to see how this team plays out this time!
Previously we heard that SRK will take a 3-month break to prep for Salute, which is a Rakesh Sharma biopic. We were impressed with this decision because playing the first Indian astronaut in space is surely no cakewalk. But, a little birdy tells us that now Salute will start only in January next year, as the Baadshah is to focus on Zero and Bhansali's project first.
We are thrilled to wait and see how these things play out.
