Seems like the wait is finally over! After auditioning more than 60 girls, Vishal Bhardwaj has zeroed in on Dangal star Sanya Malhotra and TV sensation Radhika Madan for his next comedy-drama called Chhuriyaan.
This happens to be Radhika's big debut after a successful stint in Ekta Kapoor's show Meri Aashiqui ... As for Sanya, she is striking gold with films like Badhai Ho, Photograph in her kitty.
Set in a dainty and quaint village named Ronsi in Rajasthan, the movie revolves around two sisters who are at constant loggerheads with each other. As part of their preparation, the actresses are learning how to milk buffalos, thatch roofs and plaster their walls with dung, walk for a kilometer balancing matkas full of water on their head and one around their waist. Sanya and Radhika are also learning to speak in a Rajasthani dialect. The movie is set to hit their first intensive schedule by the end of April.
The filmmaker is said to be in awe of these girls. He claims them to be untouched and unaffected by the blitz and glamour of the industry, which makes them ideal for the role he has to offer. In an interview with a leading daily, he said, "Sanya and Radhika are fantastic. They are youthful and completely untouched by the world of glamour. Their energy is infectious as well. They come to my office to discuss the film and soon I am as energetic as them. I am consumed by a very different kind of excitement..."
