Manushi Chillar’s jewellery ad with Karan, a precursor to her debut next year?

On April 6, Miss World winner Manushi Chillar was signed as the brand ambassador of Malabar Gold and Diamonds. Now her first advertisement for the brand is out, crafted by Karan Johar’s production house. It has been shared by Dharma 2.0, with the caption, “A business partnership is quite like a marriage… two entities coming together to make something beautiful. Emerge yourself in a visual experience in our latest brand film, for @Malabartweets featuring the stunning beautiful ladies @ManushiChillar and Kareena Kapoor.”

The commercial, directed by Sharan Sharma, starts off with a shot of live musicians playing the shehnai at a wedding. The two gorgeous gals Manushi and Kareena are at the buffet counter, talking about boring weddings. Kareena tells the younger girl that when she gets married, it should be different. Manushi agrees and launches off into a description of what her wedding would be like… “My wedding will be like a big festival. It will be full of joy and colour. There will be dance, music, excitement. The sky will be full of fireworks and hope. My wedding will shine with trust and love…and a promise to be one forever. That’s how my wedding will be!” By the end of it, Kareena blurts excitedly, “I also want to get married like this!” even as Manushi reminds, “But aren’t you married already!”

A strong buzz persists that Manushi will make her film debut next year with Dharma Productions. In fact, there had been rumours that she would be cast for Student of the Year 2, which Karan had denied earlier this year.

With newbies Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria being signed on opposite Tiger Shroff for SOTY2, talk continues to float about Karan having better plans for Manushi. Her jewellery ad with Karan could also be a sign of bigger things to come.

After Manushi’s big win, several Bollywood filmmakers supposedly expressed interest in casting her. Even Salman Khan was reportedly keen to give the Miss World 2017 a big Bollywood debut by casting her in one of his productions or his own film.

Speaking about the rumours of her joining films, Manushi had declared, “I have been asked a lot this question. To be honest, I am very excited for the year ahead because I will be travelling so much and after that, I do have to complete my education. But I think it is very interesting to be an actor. You get to live another life... But as of now, it (film aspiration) is not on top of my mind.”

By next year, we are laying bets that it will be!
