On the occasion of Baisakhi or Vaisakhi today, Akshay Kumar took time out from his hectic shooting schedule for the movie Kesari and wished all his fans for the festival. Seen with a turban and a beard the Khiladi Kumar is looking a pukka Sikh. Kesari also stars Parineeti Chopra.

Baisakhi or Vaisakhi is a historical and religious festival of Sikhs and is celebrated with much pomp and fervor in Punjab and around the world wherever Sikh population is in majority. The festival marks the foundation of the Khalsa community of Sikhs, started by Guru Gobind Singh.

Akshay Kumar who is playing the role of Havildar Ishar Singh and is period war drama based on the Battle of Saragarhi in which an army of 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897.

The film is being produced by Karan Johar, Twinkle Khanna and Isha Ambani. He film also stars Mohit Raina (of Devon Ke Dev Mahadev fame), Pawan Malhotra  and Rana Ranbir and is scheduled for  release in 2019.
