John Abraham Vs KriArj: Parmanu to get postponed again

Hunky John Abraham’s most awaited film Parmanu: The Story of Pokharan is facing a new challenge. The fight between him and producers KriArj has been escalating. The issue has reached such a stalemate that it has ended up in court. The Parmanu case is in the High Court now and it is in connection with the hearing that John had to appear in court himself. The film’s producers have accused Abraham of copyright infringement, due to which the trailer of the film had also been withdrawn. Prerna Arora of KriArj Entertainment had submitted a plea before the Bombay High Court, following which the teaser of John’s Parmanu was pulled out.

In their plea, KriArj alleged that John’s production house should not be allowed to use any of the film’s posters or promotional material to promote the film, as J Entertainment was using it illegally to release the film. The matter between the two parties was argued in court today. Fighting on behalf of KriArj Entertainment, was Birendra Saraf while John was represented by Aspi Chinoy.

On behalf of KriArj, it was said that they were ready to release John’s balance payment of Rs.5 crore but, as per the agreement, the actor-producer would have to spend Rs.10 crore on the promotion of the film. The case was being heard by Justice S J Kathawala and the court had asked John to be present for the hearing.

Prior to this, KriArj production house’s Prerna Arora had filed an FIR against John Abraham. She had accused him of cheating. As a result, John had ended the agreement between his J Entertainment and KriArj. This led to Arora sending a legal notice to him, claiming John had caused her heavy losses.

Even though John Abraham had announced that Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran would release on May 4, the latest news is that the film will not be releasing on this date and is likely to get postponed again in the light of his legal wrangle with Prernaa Arora’s KriArj Entertainment.
